Objectively, one of the hardest commandments of Christ to obey is “Fear not.” We live in a world that offers many reasons to be fearful. The dangers of everyday life overwhelm us from time to time and the prospect of encouraging others to persecute us by standing up for justice and mercy is often daunting. Yet, there it is. The Lord says, “Fear not.”
Why should we not be fearful? The simple truth is that we are not alone, and we never have been. God is with us. Indeed, though Jesus Christ ascended to sit at the right hand of God until His final return, He sent His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, the Comforter and empower us.
