How and why can we trust the Bible to be true? Certainly faith in God’s divine love are crucial to this trust, but the Lord has given us a book that is vast in historical scope and yet internally consistent, verifiable and confirmed by external sources. Yet without the moving of the Holy Spirit, no amount of worldly evidence would convince people of the veracity of God’s Word. Jesus said of such people, “If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead” (Luke 16:31).
