This week’s message illustrates that David was a hero to Israel and a champion protector. Like the Robin Hood of the ancient world, David drew the downtrodden to him as a moths to a flame. These misfits became the core of his army. What’s more, this week we will consider how David cared for his family, taking upon himself the responsibility of protecting them like a shepherd king. So too, Jesus is the champion of his Heavenly Kingdom and the caretaker of his Family.
